Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking. By confirming your booking, you agree to the following terms:

1. Booking & Payment

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before your hire date.
Bookings made within 4 weeks of hire must be paid in full at the time of booking.
No vehicle will be released until full payment and documentation checks are complete.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

The 25% deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations less than 4 weeks before hire: No refund.
Cancellations more than 4 weeks before hire: Only the remaining balance (if paid) will be refunded.
All cancellations must be made in writing.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers motorhome hire, cancellations, and curtailment.

3. Driver Requirements

Drivers must be aged 25 to 70 and hold a full UK or EU licence for a minimum of 2 years.
Our motorhome can be driven on a standard category B license.
ID checks and driving licence validation will be required prior to hire.
Only drivers named on the hire agreement are insured and permitted to drive.
Additional drivers: These must be agreed upon before hire and pass all necessary checks.

4. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of £750 is required before the hire starts.
This will be refunded within 7 days of the hire ending, assuming:
- No damage
- No missing items
- No cleaning required beyond standard expectations
- Fuel is returned at the same level as collection
- Van is returned on or before the agreed return date/time.
Deductions will be made if these conditions are not met.
If deductions surpass the deposit amount, you will be liable for extra costs incurred due to the above.

5. Hire Period & Vehicle Use

Minimum hire period: 3 day,. or 7 days during summer months.
Unlimited UK mileage included.
Fully comprehensive insurance and UK breakdown cover included.
Motorhome must be returned:
- With a full tank of diesel
- Cleaned inside to a reasonable standard
Strictly no smoking or vaping inside the vehicle.
Hirer is responsible for all fines, penalties, tolls, and legal issues during hire.
Use abroad: Travel to Europe must be arranged in advance and may incur extra charges. Insurance and equipment (e.g. emission stickers) must be confirmed in writing.

6. Pets

Dogs are welcome with no additional costs.
Removable seat covers must be used at all times if bringing pets.
Pet-related damage or excessive mess may lead to further charges or loss of deposit.

8. Check-In & Check-Out

A full walkaround inspection will be completed with the Hirer at both collection and return.
A record of existing damage will be made at check-in if applicable.
Late returns will incur penalty fees unless agreed in advance.
Standard collection time: 3pm
Return time: 11am

9. Liability & Insurance

Comprehensive insurance is included for named drivers only.
The Hirer is liable for:
- Any damage caused by negligence
- Damage caused by unauthorised drivers
- The full excess amount in the event of an insurance claim
Insurance does not cover personal belongings – please ensure you have suitable personal cover.

10. General

M&K Adventures reserves the right to refuse hire to anyone who does not meet requirements or behaves inappropriately.
In the event of an accident, breakdown, or emergency, contact us immediately using the provided emergency number.
These terms are subject to change at any time. The version in place at the time of booking will apply.
Bertha is fitted with a tracker which is monitored continually during your hire. If you are seen to be driving recklessly, we reserve the right to cancel your hire with immediate effect and the van must be returned.
