Family Fun at Ladies Mile Holiday Park. Our 3-Day Adventure!
Max and I recently packed up the motorhome and headed to Lady's Mile Holiday Park in Devon for a spontaneous 3-day escape, and what a trip it was! From splashing in the pools to exploring the coast, here’s the lowdown on our stay.
Check-In & First Impressions
Check-in was super easy (always a bonus when travelling with a 10-year-old who’s already asking when he can swim). The car park is a little tight, especially if you’re in a larger vehicle or towing, but once you're in and sorted, the site is really easy to navigate.
One of the best bits? You get to choose your own pitch on arrival. We picked our spot in the meadow pitches, loads of space, great privacy, and a peaceful little corner to call home for a few days.
Facilities – Loads to Do for Families
Lady'sMile is packed with everything you need for a fun, family-friendly stay. The on-site shop is well stocked, which is always handy when someone (usually me) forgets something. The games room was brilliant, plenty to keep kids entertained with arcade machines, pool tables, and more.
The pools were a big highlight. There’s both indoor and outdoor pools, and they’re clean, warm, and well-managed. You do need to book a 1-hour swimming slot (available from 9.30am each day), but the good news is you can book multiple sessions if availability allows, which worked perfectly for us. Max loved the slides and would’ve happily lived in the pool all weekend!
Don’t Forget the Bikes!
If you’re heading to Lady's Mile, bring your own bikes. There’s no bike hire on site, and the surrounding area is perfect for exploring on two wheels. We saw loads of families cycling around, and it’s by far the easiest way to get about, especially if you want to venture off the park and into Dawlish or Dawlish Warren.
Food & Entertainment
We grabbed food on site and were pleasantly surprised! Good quality, decent portions, and really well priced. It’s ideal if you don’t fancy cooking every night.
As for entertainment, we didn’t catch much of it as Max is a bit older now and wasn’t really interested. That said, what we did see looked brilliant for younger kids, dancing, games, and lots of excited little ones having the time of their lives.
Local Area – Dawlish & the Beaches
We took a trip into Dawlish and had a wander, it’s a really pretty little town with proper seaside charm. When it comes to beaches, here’s a tip: go to Dawlish Warren if you’re after a proper beach day. There are two beaches nearby, and only one has the golden sand you expect. The other was a bit underwhelming, but the town itself made up for it.
Night-Time Vibes
One thing to keep in mind: Lady's Mile is a large and very busy site. In the evenings, it can get quite loud with people playing music and enjoying themselves. Great if you love a lively atmosphere, but not so much if you’re after peace and quiet. It didn’t bother us, but earplugs might be a smart shout if you're an early sleeper.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly break with loads to do, Lady's Mile is a solid choice. Great pools, nice food, clean facilities, and a brilliant base for exploring Devon. Just bring your bikes, book your pool sessions early, and get ready for a full-on, fun-packed holiday.
Would we go back? Definitely! Max already asked when we can go again!
